ELLIE GOULDING WON’T BE APPEARING ON MARTIN GARRIX & DAVID GUETTA‘S NEW COLLABORATION, ‘SO FAR AWAY‘
Martin Garrix has confirmed that his collaboration with David Guetta, ‘So Far Away’, will no longer feature a guest vocal from Ellie Goulding.
The two collaborated on a track with David Guetta called “So Far Away,” and fans were stoked on it following a debut during Garrix’s set at Tomorrowland 2017.
Goulding admitted on Twitter that she hadn’t even heard the track herself before he played it out, though she admitted saying she was “cool” with that but it turns out her team were not best pleased and have blocked the track’s release.
After a series of tweets between each artist and their respective fans (below), Garrix declared “she didn’t want to release it”, whilst Goulding stated that she had “always loved the song very much”.
Garrix has a history of fighting against labels. He had a less-than-amicable split with his original label, Spinnin, in 2016 and founded his own STMPD RCRDS, aimed at giving up-and-coming artists an honest and fair platform for sharing their visions.
So everyone involved in the track loves it yet due to label politics it’s not going to be released in its original form, and will now feature vocals of Jamie Scott & Romy Dya.
